Aneke! More teaser art! Closing up shop!

Salutations, everyone.

We’re excited to welcome rising Spanish superstar Aneke (@mellanuska) into the fold! We love her work on Dynamite books and Gotham City Garage! She’ll be doing a variant cover for No Holds Bard, issue #4, and we know she’s going to do great. Like the rest of the variants, they’ll be up for purchase as prints in our BackerKit store. Collect them all!

So, for those keeping track, that means our variant gallery will consist of:

1. Pia Guerra
2. James Callahan
3. Luke McGarry
4. Aneke
5. Ming Doyle
6. ???

We’re still talking to that mystery 6th artist, but if we land them, ho boy, hold on to your hats. Add in Logan Faerber on the interiors and regular covers, and you got yourself a pretty solid book.

Speaking of Logan, have you seen his cover for this thing? It’s majestic.

We’re also doing a signed bookplate edition of the collection, and you can see the art below. It’s going to be really, really, really good.

Beautiful, right?

A funny thing happened yesterday. Even though I hid the page for buying our Pilot issue around a month ago in preparation for the new Kickstarter, someone managed to beat the system and send me money. So now I’ve disabled the PayPal button. I feel like Ringo Starr.  (YT: Ringo Starr says he’s too busy to sign autographs)Don’t worry if you didn’t get your copy of this extremely rare comic, the rest of the stock will be up for sale on our BackerKit store when we launch.

Don’t forget to follow us on TwitterTumblrFacebook, and I guess I’ll plug Logan and my personal Instagrams too. You can see me pole dancing or whatever.

All right, that’s it. More updates when we get them.

New Variant Cover Gallery Artist Announcement! Launch Date Clarification! Social Media!

Hello everyone, and happy new comic book day!

Big announcement as the one and only Ming Doyle is joining the Murderers’ Row that is the No Holds Bard variant cover gallery. Logan and I are huge fans of her work on Mara, Adventure Time, Constantine: The Hellblazer, and much more, and we hope you’re as thrilled as we are to have her aboard. All of these covers and more will be available for purchase as high quality prints on our Backerkit page.

We’ve carved out the official date for our Kickstarter launch as March 15 (beware the ides of March)! If all goes according to plan, that should put the book in your hands around October. I know that seems like a long way away, but we swear it’ll be worth it.

Please follow our Twitter @BardComic for daily updates, and we have other social media outlets too. We’re happy to be partnering with GeekChic Promotions who will be helping us with our big marketing push starting on Valentine’s Day.

More announcements next week!

First Folio teaser art!

Hey everybody,

Check this out:

This is the first concept image for No Holds Bard: The First Folio with art by Logan Faerber. Isn’t it amazing? I practically fell out of my chair when I first saw it.

Oh, and we’re specifically not showing any pages before the Kickstarter, because one of the rewards is GETTING DRAWN IN THE BOOK!

More as it comes.

Get hype.

New Bard in 2018!

Happy New Year, friends, Romans, countrymen,

Just wanted to take a minute and make a couple announcements. First and foremost, there’s going to be new No Holds Bard in 2018. We’re putting together an almost-all-new graphic novel consisting of six issues (that’s 140+ pages of content) and calling it No Holds Bard: The First Folio, and let me tell you, this thing goes off the rails! That’s right, more Shakespeare and Page adventures in stunning iambic pentameter, drawn by a single artist.

And that artist is the one and only Logan Faerber! Fresh off his hit book Namwolf, Logan is back gracing the pages of Bard with his signature style. We’re both really excited to share this goofy thing with you.

But that’s not all. We’re also assembling an all-star variant cover gallery for the back of the book. So far we have James Callahan (The Auteur), Luke McGarry (that Hollywood Reporter article about Michael Wolff’s new book), and Pia Guerra (Y: The Last Man) signed on, and more are coming soon.

And to make sure everything is copacetic words-wise, we’ve hired editor, Shakespeare enthusiast, and Smurfologist extraordinaire Matt. Murray to go over everything with a fine-toothed comb.

Kickstarter begins in March. Until then, we’re going to be promoting the hell out of this thing. If you want to help spread the word, follow @BardComic on Twitter, or check our Tumblr or official Facebook groups. We’re going to need all hands on deck on this.

Beware the ides of March!

-Eric

P.S. If you want a shirt from the last Kickstarter, send me an email (noholdsbardcomic AT gmail.com). I only have a couple left, and the new KS will have an all-new design, so once these babies are gone, they’re gone!

New Kickstarter coming soon!

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears!

I come to promote a new Kickstarter, launching in early 2018. Six issues of No Holds Bard, with one artist, amazing pin-ups, and a bevvy of rewards!

Lots and lots of info coming soon.
